Today we’re hanging out with Dr. Kealani Cook, Associate Professor of History at UH West O’ahu, to learn how our sugar plantation history shaped aspects of modern local culture. We’ll also hear from Timothy Ashcraft at the Hawaiʻi Credit Union League and my wife’s grandpa, James Sumile, a retired plantation worker whom she interviewed in 2002. Plus we’ll meet Evile at your neighborhood City Mill and local boy turned Broadway star Zeke!
Here in Hawaiʻi is now on TV – catch it Sundays at 5pm on KHON2! If you forgot to set your DVR (or if you’re not in Hawaiʻi) you can find the TV episodes here on this channel.
