The Show

What’s this all about?

Here in Hawaiʻi began as a podcast in January 2024 with the goal of sharing the values of ALOHA through the stories of local people. The TV version will debut on KHON on Sunday, August 25, 2024 at 5:00 PM HST.

Here in Hawaiʻi is presented by Hawaii State Federal Credit Union, with support from ELITE Parking, City Mill, UHA Health Insurance and AlohaCare. We’re honored and grateful to partner with these local organizations whose values align so well with our mission of honoring the people of Hawaiʻi.

Who we are

The team behind the scenes…

Here in Hawaiʻi is produced by Nolan & Jamie Hong, the husband and wife behind Pop Creative Media, a video production company that has been producing content for local nonprofits, businesses and families since 2014.

Nolan has honed his interview technique through 200+ interviews for his podcast, and hundreds more for the 300+ videos we’ve produced for clients. With a 20+ year career in media as an actor, director and producer, marketing experience as a media buyer and consultant, and in ad sales for TV and print, Nolan has a unique 360-degree perspective that inspires his creativity.

Jamie began her career as part of the studio news crew at KGMB. Before starting Pop with Nolan, she was a producer at Oceanic Time Warner Cable, where she received Telly Awards for some of her commercials and long-form productions. She also directed “Sticks & Stones,” which premiered at the Hawaiʻi International Film Festival and won the Adam Baran Award for Best Hawaiʻi Filmmaker at what is now the Honolulu Rainbow Film Festival.
