In this episode of Here in Hawaiʻi, we share the powerful story of Zabrina Zablan-Duvauchelle and Ipolani Duvauchelle, whose mission is to create safe, welcoming spaces for LGBTQ+ couples in the wedding and events industry through their company, The Gay Agenda Collective (TGA).
Both attended a Christian university hoping to “reverse” being gay, but instead found each other. When their relationship was discovered, Zabrina lost her scholarships with only four months left until graduation, leaving her with $30,000 in debt. Facing rejection from family, faith communities, and wedding vendors who refused to work with them, they turned their pain into a mission – ensuring no LGBTQ+ couple feels unwelcome when planning their wedding.
We also feature:
🌺 Max and Grayson, high school students who started After School Snacks Hawaiʻi, a nonprofit raising money for community organizations.
🌺 Hiʻilani Shibata of Ka Mahina Project, who shares a personal family moʻolelo about the April Fools’ Day tsunami in Hilo.
