In this episode of Elevate 808, we’re exploring how two incredible programs are nurturing the next generation through culture, community, and values-based education.
We start in Waimānalo with Hui Mālama O Ke Kai, an afterschool program where keiki connect to ʻāina and kai through hands-on learning rooted in Hawaiian values. From ocean activities to ʻāina stewardship, this program builds confidence, leadership, and deep connection to place. 🌊🌿
Then we visit Mālama Honua Public Charter School, a school born from the vision of the Mālama Honua Worldwide Voyage. With a foundation built on values, culture, and kuleana, this school is reimagining what education can look like — especially for Native Hawaiian students who weren’t being served in traditional classrooms. 🌈📚
